(Frequently Asked Questions!)
General FAQQ
Q. What do you use to make your comics?
A. I sketch, ink, and color all my comic pages in Photoshop Elements 5.0. I also use a Wacom Intuos3 9" x 12" drawing tablet.
Q. How long does it take you to make a comic page?
A. Anywhere from a couple hours to a whole day. The older Keystones comic pages took me 3 days, working on and off, to complete where as the newer
Tribal Wars shorts comic pages take me a few hours and I can usually finish them same day I started them.
Q.Will you ever have one of your comics printed?
All of my comics will primarily be online webcomics only. The file sizes and resolution I normally draw in are terrible when it comes to printing so it takes a
fair bit of extra work on my part to make something print quality. I will, however, be drawing "Tribal Wars" in 5.5x7.75" manga printing format
in hopes for future publication though. "Warriors of OakClan", will be a webcomic only because it's purely fanbased.
Q. Will you help me make a comic?
A. As much as I'd like to, I really don't have the time. Besides focusing on my own stories, I do art commissions and trades for people when I'm not working on
a comic page. I'm also a full time college student, which is time consuming all in itself, and I work part time as illustrator so away from my own art, my time is
pretty much spent.
Q. Can I draw fanart of one of your comic characters?
A. Of course! I love getting fanart of my characters and I fully encourage anyone to draw my chars if they're wanting to. All
I ask is for you to give me credit for the character/comic and don't claim either as your own.
Q. Can I roleplay _____ on this RP forum?
A. No. I don't allow people to roleplay with my characters unless you and I are really close friends. I've worked really hard
on my character's stories, backgrounds, and relations and I'd rather not have people changing that to make up their
own random stories. I'm sure you can find enough creativity in yourself to make up your own RP char.
"Tribal Wars: Foxes of Aaka" FAQ
Q. Where did you get the inspiration for "Tribal Wars"?
A. Believe it or not, I was on a camping trip of all places. While there, we had this fox that would stop by every night for a biscuit and after that, I had a sudden fascination with foxes. I really enjoyed taking a break from drawing my usual felines to focus on something more canine-like. In November, I decided that I wanted to start a full fledged story featuring a whole tribe of foxes and, well, the rest is history!
Q. How long do you plan to make the comic?
Tribal Wars is planned to be a full length comic, split up into several issues. At the moment, I'm looking to make the entire story at least 4-5 separate issues with each part having between 25-30 fully colored pages. Of course, all of this is subject to change as I go along.
Q. What's up with these Tribal Wars 'Shorts'?
A. The TW shorts are meant to be events that happen either before or during the main comic but are disconnected from the actual story. They're basically just small projects (between 4 - 10 pages max) that give readers an insight on a certain character's personality or relations that otherwise might not be mentioned in the main story.
Q. Is TW based on the 'Warriors' series?
A. Even though it may seem like that to some, it's not meant to be. The only similarity between my foxes and the cats of the Warriors world are they both live in clans/tribes and these groups have ranks. Other than that, I'm trying to keep TW as far away from 'Warriors' inspiration as possible.
"Keystones" FAQ
Q. Where did you get the inspiration for "Keystones"?
A. That's a tough question. I've really gathered bits of my inspiration for Keystones from every where, but if I had to pick a few sources, I'd have to say from either Kingdom Hearts, FFVII, or the Yu-Gi-Oh anime (especially from the 3rd season of GX). Unlike my other comics, which pit character vs character, Keystones plays a lot on the state of mind, character development, and changes within. Even though there is still a physical confrontation, the main characters go through a lot of changes within them self.
Q. I thought you said you were stopping "Keystones"?
A. I lied. :B "Keystones" is turning out to be a very difficult story to write mainly because of the strong emotions/scenarios that need to be in place to make it work. I did decide to quit working on "Keystones" for awhile because I thought the storyline was too tough for me to get right, but now I think I'm ready to tackle is again. However, because of "Tribal Wars" and the recent development of "Shadow Marked", it'll probably be a good long while before I start anything dealing with "Keystones". Don't expect any development with this until I finish both TW and SM!
"Warriors of OakClan" FAQ
Q. Where did you get the inspiration for "Warriors of OakClan"?
A. I like the "Warriors" series and I wanted to make a fancomic like everyone else!
Q. So...what are we expecting with this?
A. "Warriors of OakClan" probably won't ever be turned into a full comic series like "Tribal Wars" or "Shadow Marked" will. I'm only keeping it up here as a project I'm working on because I wrote a super short (12 page) story about Saberheart and his clan for a school writing portfolio and I've also put a lot of time into making background stories for Thunderstar and Cloudfoot. I may someday start a few mini comics showing their stories but I wouldn't expect anything major or soon for that matter.
Long story short, don't expect much from "Warriors of OakClan", if anything.
